Mashonaland Central District Investment Proposals

An in-depth look at ZITIT's upcoming and proposed projects for targeted growth across the province.

Zone Profile: Bindura & Shamva - The Mining & Administrative Hub

As the provincial capital, Bindura is the administrative and educational heart of Mash Central, hosting key government offices and a major university. Both districts are renowned for their rich mineral deposits, particularly gold and nickel, creating a robust economy centered on mining.

ZITIT's Strategic Focus

Our proposals focus on servicing the dominant mining industry and catering to the growing urban population of Bindura. We aim to invest in mining support services, commercial real estate, and agricultural value-addition.

Upcoming & Proposed ZITIT Projects

  • Project Proposal: Mining Consumables Supply Market Research Stage
Establish a wholesale business supplying essential consumables to small-scale and medium-scale miners (e.g., safety equipment, chemicals, drill bits). Justification: A high-turnover business that directly serves the region's primary economic driver without the risks of direct mining.
  • Project Proposal: Student & Staff Accommodation Feasibility Stage
Construct modern, secure housing complexes in Bindura to cater to students and staff from Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE). Justification: Addresses a critical accommodation shortage and provides a stable, long-term rental income stream.

Zone Profile: Mazowe & Guruve - The Horticultural Heartland

These districts are famous for their vast citrus estates, high-quality tobacco farms, and burgeoning horticultural sector. The Mazowe Dam and surrounding landscape also present significant opportunities for tourism and leisure development.

ZITIT's Strategic Focus

Our strategy is to invest in value-addition for the region's agricultural output and to develop tourism facilities. We aim to build businesses that process local produce, increasing its value, and create destinations that attract visitors.

Upcoming & Proposed ZITIT Projects

  • Project Proposal: Fruit Juice & Concentrate Plant Feasibility Stage
Establish a processing plant to produce fresh juices, concentrates, and essential oils from the region's abundant citrus harvest. Justification: Adds significant value to local produce, reduces post-harvest losses, and targets both local and export markets.
  • Project Proposal: ZITIT Dam-view Conference & Leisure Centre Concept Stage
Develop a conference centre with recreational facilities (boating, fishing) on the shores of Mazowe Dam. Justification: Capitalizes on the scenic location to attract corporate and leisure tourism, a high-margin sector.

Zone Profile: Muzarabani & Mbire - The Valley Frontier

Located in the Zambezi Valley, these districts are characterized by a hot climate ideal for cotton and sesame farming. The region is also on the cusp of major development with recent oil and gas discoveries. The Zambezi River provides immense potential for fishing and tourism.

ZITIT's Strategic Focus

Our proposals are forward-looking, aiming to support the established agricultural sector while positioning ZITIT to benefit from future growth in the energy and logistics sectors. We will focus on cotton value-addition and creating essential support services.

Upcoming & Proposed ZITIT Projects

  • Project Proposal: Cotton Ginnery & Oil Pressing Plant Feasibility Stage
Set up a facility to gin raw cotton for lint and press cottonseed to produce cooking oil and stockfeed. Justification: A vertically integrated model that creates multiple high-demand products from a single local resource.
  • Project Proposal: ZITIT Kapenta Fishing & Drying Market Research Stage
Establish a commercial kapenta (freshwater sardine) fishing operation on the Zambezi, complete with a modern drying and packaging facility. Justification: A highly profitable venture that supplies a staple, high-protein food product to a nationwide market.

Zone Profile: Mount Darwin & Rushinga - The Grain & Trade Corridor

These districts are key producers of small grains like sorghum and millet and are strategically located along trade corridors to Mozambique and Zambia. They have a strong tradition of livestock farming and a growing need for formalised trade support.

ZITIT's Strategic Focus

Our strategy is to enhance food security and formalize trade by investing in processing and logistics. We aim to build businesses that improve the value of local grains and facilitate smoother cross-border commerce.

  • Project Proposal: Cross-Border Logistics & Truck Stop Market Research Stage
Develop a secure truck stop with warehousing, customs clearing services, and driver amenities on the route to the Mukumbura border post. Justification: Services a key trade route and generates revenue from logistics, storage, and retail services.
