Midlands District Investment Proposals

An in-depth look at ZITIT's upcoming and proposed projects for targeted growth across the industrial heartland.

Zone Profile: Gweru & Kwekwe - The Industrial Corridor

This zone represents the industrial spine of the Midlands. Gweru is the provincial capital and a major manufacturing and educational center, while Kwekwe is the heart of Zimbabwe's steel and ferrochrome industries. Both cities have a high demand for industrial services and urban real estate.

ZITIT's Strategic Focus

Our proposals leverage the existing industrial base. We will expand on our ZITIT Textiles project by adding new product lines and explore ventures in industrial services, property development, and specialized manufacturing.

Upcoming & Proposed ZITIT Projects

  • Project Proposal: Corporate & Protective Wear Manufacturing Feasibility Stage
An expansion of ZITIT Textiles to include the manufacturing of industrial work-suits, safety overalls, and corporate wear. Justification: Leverages existing infrastructure and skills to enter a lucrative business-to-business market.
  • Project Proposal: Student & Industrial Park Accommodation Concept Stage
Develop modern, secure accommodation complexes in Gweru and Kwekwe to serve students from MSU and workers from the major industrial players. Justification: A high-demand real estate venture with stable, long-term rental income potential.

Zone Profile: Zvishavane & Shurugwi - The Great Dyke

This zone is defined by the Great Dyke, a geological feature hosting some of the world's largest deposits of platinum, chrome, and asbestos. The economy is dominated by large-scale mining operations, creating a massive ecosystem for support industries.

ZITIT's Strategic Focus

Our strategy is to enter the mining value chain by providing essential, non-extractive services. We aim to become a key supplier and service provider to the major mining houses in the region, offering a lower-risk entry into this high-value sector.

Upcoming & Proposed ZITIT Projects

  • Project Proposal: ZITIT Mining Support Services Market Research Stage
Establish a company offering contracted services like industrial catering, ground maintenance, and transport logistics for mining companies. Justification: A service-based business model with the potential for long-term, high-value contracts.
  • Project Proposal: Safety Equipment & Consumables Retail Concept Stage
Open a large retail outlet in Zvishavane specializing in the bulk supply of personal protective equipment (PPE), tools, and other consumables to mines. Justification: A high-turnover retail business serving a captive and regulation-driven market.

Zone Profile: Chirumhanzu & Mvuma - The Livestock & Logistics Hub

This central zone is known for its extensive cattle ranching operations and its strategic location at the crossroads of the country's major highways. It's a key area for livestock breeding and a natural point for national logistics.

ZITIT's Strategic Focus

Our proposals aim to build on the region's strengths in livestock and its logistical advantages. We will invest in large-scale cattle projects and develop infrastructure to support the transport industry.

Upcoming & Proposed ZITIT Projects

  • Project Proposal: ZITIT Cattle Breeding & Ranching Land Identification Stage
Acquire and develop a large-scale commercial ranch focused on breeding high-quality, resilient cattle breeds for the national beef market. Justification: A long-term, asset-backed investment with synergies for ZITIT's abattoir and ranches projects in other provinces.
  • Project Proposal: Mvuma Junction Truck Stop & Logistics Park Concept Stage
Develop a major truck stop at the Mvuma turn-off, offering secure parking, fuel, food, and warehousing facilities. Justification: A strategic infrastructure project to service the nexus of the Harare-Masvingo and Harare-Bulawayo routes.

Zone Profile: Gokwe North & South - The Cotton Kingdom

Gokwe is famously known as the "Cotton Kingdom" of Zimbabwe, being the largest producer of the "white gold." The economy is dominated by cotton farming, creating a massive need for agricultural inputs, processing facilities, and logistics.

ZITIT's Strategic Focus

Our strategy is to invest directly in the cotton value chain. We will focus on value-addition through processing and providing critical support services to the thousands of farmers in the region.

Upcoming & Proposed ZITIT Projects

  • Project Proposal: ZITIT Cotton Ginnery & Oil Pressing Feasibility Stage
Establish a modern cotton ginnery to process raw cotton into lint, and an oil-press plant to extract cooking oil from the cottonseed. Justification: Creates multiple high-demand products from a single local resource and provides a reliable market for local farmers.
  • Project Proposal: Agricultural Inputs & Services Hub Market Research Stage
Set up a one-stop-shop in Gokwe centre for farmers, providing seed, fertilizer, chemicals, and equipment hire. Justification: A high-demand retail and service business that supports the primary economic activity of the entire district.
